Media Release

Jackson Township - The Jackson Township Police Department and the Stark County Coroner’s Office are currently investigating the death of a female who was located in the area behind the 6800 block of Chillingsworth in Nobles Pond on Sunday, February 24, 2008.  At approximately 3:48 p.m. officers and emergency response personnel were summoned to check on the well being of the female who was observed lying on the ice.  Upon arrival, responders found the woman was deceased.  The female victim has been identified as Marva Campbell, age 52, of Canton, Ohio.  Investigators are continuing their investigation into the incident.  According to the coroner’s office, the body showed no signs of trauma.  The death is possibly attributed to exposure to the cold temperatures; however, an official cause of death determination is still pending.
